Free games for third graders. Not a large catalog, and this page won’t pretend otherwise. What’s here is aimed squarely at the skill that defines third grade math: knowing the times tables well enough to stop thinking about them.

3rd Grade Math Games

• Times Tables – The main event for third grade. Pick a table and practice it until recall is fast. Start with the 2s, 5s, and 10s, leave the 6s, 7s, and 8s for last. 7 × 8 = 56 is the fact most children take longest to learn, and it helps to say that out loud so nobody thinks they’re the only one struggling. Printable worksheet included.
• Addition Game – Third graders still benefit from addition drills as a warm-up. Column addition falls apart when single-digit facts are slow, not because the method is hard but because the child runs out of attention halfway through. Printable worksheet included.

• Alphabetical Order – ABC ordering for dictionary and index work.
